Introduce yourself

Feel free to post in this topic a little presentation about yourself, how you discovered The Legend of Zelda, and why you like it.
I am from France and I discovered Zelda with the introduction of the very first game in 1986. I immediately loved the concepts, the quests, the temples, the puzzles, finding things under bushes and stones ... and so on ... and since then I have played all the episodes released on Nintendo consoles, with the exception of Oracles of Ages and Oracles of Seasons.
My favorite games are Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker, and the one I disliked the most was The Adventure of Links (Zelda 2), a game I never finished.
And of course I am awaiting The Twilight Princess with much impatience.

Hello there JBL.
How does it feel having discovered the series from the very beginning? I have wondered that many a time.
I was first introduced to the series by a very special friend of mine. The first game I played in the series was Ocarina of Time, and what a place to start! I remember thinking 'WOW' after I'd watched my mate play it and, of course, I was more than a little eager to get my own copy.
From that day on I have loved the series, one that has always left me in awe of its design qualities, characters and sheer brilliance of execution. For me, no other series has matched this excellence and I doubt anything ever will.
Close to follow OOT in my favourites list is Majora's Mask, followed by A Link to the Past with Wind Waker a close fourth. The only game I didn't get on too well with was Zelda II: Adventure of Link, but to be fair I haven't given that one a huge amount of play time. The only game I have not played in the 'proper' series (i.e. discounting the Phillips games) thus far is The Minish Cap (and from what I hear that's a cracker too.)
You can find my site, Woods of Mystery, via the webring. Farewell my friends.

... I don't know in fact , I mean, maybe it's like when you have a brother/sister you grew up with. In the middle of the 80's when the first Zelda came I believe it was one of the "longest" games at that time, and it was really an immersion into the game. At least that's my opinion, and that's what I liked. Discovering a "whole world", moving freely and progressing thanks to the finding of new elements / objects was something really new and it was great!
I liked very much The Minish, and after 3D episodes I was pleased to re-discover a Link-to-the-Past-like game ... the ability to "dig" and to become "small" are great ideas! and I hope they'll be used again one day.
Thank you very much for joining!
